I recently stumbled across an advice column with the following (condensed version) question and answer: “Dear XXXX, I’m in a relationship with a man who has a 14 year old daughter. The problem is, every time we go somewhere, the daughter sits in the front seat while I have to sit in the back. Do you think that’s right?” (I’m already angry at this point) The equally dumb answer? “Dear XXXX, I understand your concern. You should be honest with your boyfriend and suggest you and the daughter take turns sitting in the front. If you are confrontational, the person who ends up out of the car will be you.”

WHAAAATTTTT?????????? Even if the first time was an oversight (which is wasn’t), you should have spoken up to both of them immediately and cheerfully. Something like….”Hey, how about both of the grown ups sit in the front seat?  Hahaha!” Dude…kick that brat’s bony ass OUT of the front seat. And by the way, a man who will allow a child to show even a small dominance over an older female adult will continue to allow it ABOUT EVERYTHING ELSE FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. If this is not resolved instantly, get rid of both of them. Or else you’re a pansy. This has nothing to do with being mean. It’s manners and respect.
